Our Story
Here we reflect on our side of the story of how we met.

His Story
Diana really waltzed her way into my life and made me fall head over heels. That was even before I saw her heels class, so I knew it must have been the real thing. We met, how any usual love story begins, with me awkwardly dropping my Greek Pita in front of her, less than 2 minutes after meeting her. As I struggled to hide the tzatziki sauce that had covered my lap, I saw her watching the Greek performers getting ready to start their traditional dancing. Without missing a step, she turned in my direction and immediately asked me “so what do you think about the real estate market this year.” For the first time in my life, I was left reeling. I had to take a moment and gather my thoughts before I started talking with her. But for those of you who know Diana, you know that she has this particular talent of being involved in and having an interest in everything. From dance, real estate, singing and even assisted living, she really can do it all. But back then, on October 7, 2022, I had just known her for two minutes, and I already knew that I had to ask her out. So I did. I asked her to attend a Halloween party I would be hosting.
While, I don’t remember much about the party (of course because of my due diligence in making sure everyone was sober) I remember when she walked in. Have you ever felt like you could sense someone’s aura? Their energy radiating around them. That’s exactly how I felt when I saw her, she came in and she had this incredible aura about her. She was and still is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met, and that night, in between our legendary Beer Pong tournament run, I realized just how lucky I was to have met her. After that, I knew that we had to go on another adventure. The next day, without missing a beat, she invited me (you read that right folks) to Step up Africa, a dance show that ASU was hosting. Now keep in mind, up until this point in my life, my experience with dance consisted of High School Prom and the occasional dance dance revolution game. I knew little to nothing about the arts, and I was going out with an incredible artist who loved (and still very much loves) dance and music. but that’s exactly why I’m so lucky to have her. She always pushes me outside of my boundaries, to go on adventures I could never imagine. I could never have imagined doing karaoke in front of rooms full of people, going to a Latin Dance class at the Deuce and admiring art and music shows without her. She makes me a better person and a better man. Throughout our many experiences together, traveling the world together (going to Bosnia, Croatia, Germany, Romania, Mexico, adopting two cats (Winx and her baby brother Mellow (Mira 3)), living together in our first apartment and running a few businesses together, Diana has always been and always will be my First Mate.
Diana has been the most supportive, kind, and understanding partner I could ever ask for. She welcomed me into her culture—though, to be fair, our countries are basically next-door neighbors—and she's always made me feel loved and truly seen. She’ll be the first to showcase her speaking skills (just mention a topic she’s passionate about and stand back), but what most people don’t see is where her real gift lies: when life gets difficult and you need someone who truly cares and wants to help, that’s when Diana’s quiet superpower kicks in. She listens, shows up, and somehow makes everything feel more manageable—and a lot more meaningful.
She is a one of a kind person, someone who truly makes life that much more exciting.Throughout our many journeys, I always have just one more question to ask her, Jesi li spremna za sljedeću avanturu?
I am grateful to have a partner who shares many of the same values I do. Diana is family oriented, she cares so much about her friends and family that I find it so endearing. She always laughs at my very very funny jokes (just ask anyone), and she has become an integral and lovely member of my family. In turn, I am truly blessed to have become a member of her family, especially considering her parent’s eternal kindness towards my side of the family and her brother’s admiration of my soccer skills.
I know that, as we enter this next chapter of our lives, we will face many adversities, challenges, and overcome more than we could ever imagine together. Regardless of what the world throws our way, we will waltz right through it, together with grace. I love her, my sweet Minx ❤️
Her Story
Our story starts when my friend at the time managed to convince me to attend a greek festival at a nearby church. It had been a while since I connected with her so we wanted to catch up, eat some gyros, and hangout with some friends I hadn't seen in a while. I was in the phase of my life where I was focusing solely on myself and had no interest in meeting guys or getting into a relationship. Once we got to the festival she introduced me to some of her friends and then we all decided to grab food and sit on the grass while enjoying the live music. By chance I had sat next to Teo, and my friend left me for a bit because she needed to get something from her car. To avoid awkward silence I engaged in a conversation with Teo and got to know more about him during the short time we chatted. His version of this story has him freaking out about spilling his gyro all over himself but I must have been looking somewhere else because I never noticed this happened. Ironically I was also freaking out because I had spilled my Gyro all over the grass and quickly picked it up so he wouldn't notice. I don't know how we both missed each others awkward situation but it must have happened at the same time and we were both focused on redeeming ourselves. I really enjoyed talking with him and he seemed very attentive and interested in keeping the conversation going. Of course we exchanged instagrams but didn't think anything would progress. This was close to halloween and his friend group is notorious for throwing a halloween bash at their place. Originally I told him I wasn't feeling good and would not show up. Then my friend at the time really wanted to go and showed up at my house to drag me to this party. I didn't even have a costume but managed to pull a last minute costume together and showed up as the cover of bebe rexha EP "All your fault pt.1". To his surprise I showed up and got to witness his costume which was of an ostrich. It's so funny because at the time Ostriches were my favorite animal because they look so silly. It was a fun time, but I didn't want to continue seeing him because I was so focused on myself and didn't want any distractions. I was supposed to go to a show at ASU Gammage but my friend got covid and couldn't make it so I did ask him if he would like to join, which he loves to tell people lol. The show ended up being very entertaining and we got ice cream after and talked for hours.
That's one of my favorite things about Teo you can talk to him about anything and he has always been super sweet and kind. From then on we continued to go on dates and became almost inseparable, we would study together and just have a ton of fun. It was truly a breath of fresh air and I decided to give him a chance despite him not meeting my 6'2 height criteria for guys I would date. You know what they say, short kings have the best personality... He really brings out the best in me and accepts me for who I am. I know no matter what life throws at us both good and bad we will rise above and be there for each other. I Love him, even though in a way he baby trapped me by gifting me two kittens that need both their parents in their life. Here's to forever and always, I love you my king.❤️
